You don’t see us.
Why would you? We are tiny amidst the mountains and snow.
We were once part of them, frozen in time and part of an enormous mass
It was comforting to be secure, no one dared defy us.
But then the sun came and pierced our togetherness
Thawed and broken, we changed states
As solid turned to liquid, we bid our mountain good-bye
Time to melt, time to go.
You don’t see us but we are there
Made of molecules which are made of atoms which are made of protons, neutrons and electrons
We are part of an infinity of greatness and smallness
Falling, falling, falling.
