Page 109 of ‘A Farewell to Arms’ –
Henry : It’s raining hard.
Catherine: And you’ll always love me, won’t you?
Henry: Yes
Catherine: And the rain won’t make any difference?
Henry: No
Catherine: That’s good. Because I’m afraid of the rain.
Henry: Why
Catherine: I don’t know darling. I’ve always been afraid of the rain.
Henry: I like it.
Catherine: I like to walk in it. But it’s very hard on loving.
Henry: I’ll love you always.
Catherine: I’ll love you in the rain and in the snow and in the hail and- what else is there?
